The Lending Library is fully computerized. The automatic ALEPH system registers all operations connected with readers' registrestion, with ordering, reserving, lending, returning and prolonging of books, with reminder printing and with charging fines for books detaining. Orders are placed on hand-written forms only in case of books, whose descriptions can be found solely in card catalogues. The basis for lending a book is an electronic student's card or a library card with a barcode.
